TimTec LLC was founded in 1995 near the University of Delaware in Newark to acquire and distribute synthetic organic and natural compounds and to support custom synthesis, software, and laboratory work for drug discovery.

The company is based in the Orlando area at 1950 East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Suite 301, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Operations include compound distribution, custom weighing and microplate preparation, and quality control that includes NMR analysis. Use the Kissimmee address for shipping and correspondence.

TimTec designs screening libraries of different sizes and specializations and also provides compound management, custom formatting, and computational services.

Purpose

Company history (1995–2026)

The timeline below records TimTec’s published Company History from the company’s 1995 establishment through 2012, then later verified milestones through 2026. Predecessor compound offerings from the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry in the early 1990s, and Zelinsky Inc.’s 1993 shift of operations to the United States to serve North American customers (including DuPont, J&J, Merck, and Lilly), preceded that incorporation.

  • 1995: Physical facility requirements emerged and TimTec was established in Delaware to stock compounds domestically and operate a full-service laboratory. Continued vertical integration began with a storage facility, operational warehouse, and compound-management services laboratory. www.TimTec.net was launched. The ActiMol library was created and further developed through cherry-picking of overseas compounds.
  • 1996: This was a transitional period as the company changed operations from distribution to operation.
  • 1997: Compound-transfer services were added. Compound database management software ChemDBsoft increased performance and compound-acquisition efficiency; ChemDBsoft was offered to chemists worldwide as a compound-management tool.
  • 1998: R&D, custom synthesis, and analytical services were offered as part of a joint venture with Zelinsky and other companies. TimTec moved to a larger facility to accommodate growing demand.
  • 1999: Natural products became a major focus (these libraries continue to grow). Liquid-handling robotics became part of TimTec’s laboratory to meet increased demand.
  • 2000: The First Diversity Set library was created. The full-service laboratory was expanded.
  • 2001: Plant extracts were offered through TimTec.
  • 2003: ChemDBsoft V2 introduced new features, speed, stability, and usability.
  • 2004: A TimTec–Biomol collaboration resulted in the MaxiVerse chemical diversity library. www.BuyReagents.com and www.ChemDBsoft.com were launched.
  • 2005: The MolPro package was released (logP, logD, logS, pKa, Fa, diversity and similarity features). Successful collaboration with Sigma-Aldrich (SIAL) produced the MyriaScreen Collection Library. TimTec moved to a larger facility to accommodate growing need for space; the laboratory and storage were expanded.
  • 2006: The Privileged Structures focused library was assembled; the targeted library series was expanded; natural products and derivatives libraries were expanded.
  • 2009: www.ActiMol.com was launched. The Flavonoid Library was assembled. A template-based library was created. The targeted library series was expanded; ActiTarg-P was added. The Fragment-Based Library (FBL) was created.
  • 2010: ChemDBsoft V3 was released (compatibility and speed improved). The TimTec eChemStore online compound catalog was created so customers could purchase individual compounds. The targeted library series was expanded; ActiTarg-N was added. The TimTec Russia site was launched to promote collaboration with CIS and Asia.
  • 2011: MyriaScreen II was launched in collaboration with Sigma-Aldrich, and participation in SIAL AMS began. The former MyriaScreen II diversity collection is offered today as MS-10000.
  • 2012: The eChemStore online catalog was expanded to 680,000 compounds. TimTec introduced Chem-TCM, a phytochemical database of molecules found in plants used in traditional Chinese medicine.
  • 2013–2021: TimTec continued compound supply, screening-library development, and compound-management services for life-science R&D customers.
  • 2022: Customer geography was reported for 2022 sales: United States and Canada 50%, Europe 35%, Asia Pacific and South America 15%, across a stated base of 1,800+ customers and 8,000 individual accounts. These figures are not independently audited here.
